According to TMZ, Kobe Bryant’s wife, Vanessa Bryant, has filed for divorce. Nothing unusual here, except that it’s exactly 10 years after they were first married. Just enough time to be considered a long-term marriage, and, in California, she gets paid for life (or until she remarries… unlikely).
This all comes from an interview with her former stepfather, Stephen Laine, who went through the same thing with her mother.
“I have to pay her mom $1,800 every month, even though she lives in one of Kobe’s mansions.”
While I’m all for sugar babies getting as much financial stability as they can out of a sugar daddy dating relationship, being a predatory sugar baby consciously going into a full-blown marriage (kids, the works) just for a big payoff a decade down the road is severe.
